5 best fruit for diabetic people

For individuals with diabetes, choosing fruits with a lower glycemic index (GI) and higher fiber content can help manage blood sugar levels. GI helps us to understand how fast glucose in the food we eat gets absorbed in the blood. Here are five fruits that are generally considered good choices for people with diabetes:

1. Berries (e.g., strawberries, blueberries, raspberries): Berries are rich in fiber, antioxidants, and vitamins while having a relatively low glycemic index compared to other fruits. The GI and carb content are different for different berries but are very low

2. Grapefruit: Grapefruit can help regulate blood sugar levels. Eating them with the skin on increases their fiber intake. It has a GI of 25, has 11 gm of carbs out of which 1.6 gm is fiber so net carbs are 9.4 gm which can be considered low in carb

3. Pears: Like apples, pears are rich in fiber and have a low glycemic index. They can be a satisfying and nutritious snack for people with diabetes.

4. Cherries: Cherries have a lower glycemic index compared to many other fruits and are packed with antioxidants. Eating them in moderation can be beneficial for people with diabetes.

5. Avacardo: Avacardo is the best fruit for diabetes as well as for weight. GI of Avacardo is 40 which is considered low but the best part is  1oo gm of Avacardo contains 13 grams of carbs out of which 10 grams are fiber reducing net carb to just 3 grams. So you can eat Avacard without the fear of blood sugar spikes.

Remember, portion control is essential, and it's always a good idea to monitor blood sugar levels after consuming fruits to see how they affect you individually. Additionally, it's best to consume whole fruits rather than fruit juices, as juices can lead to rapid spikes in blood sugar levels due to their concentrated sugar content and lower fiber content.
